Surface
Engineering.
Surface Engineering is the science that studies and develops process-product systems for the functionalisation of surfaces, with the aim of providing the optimal properties for a specific application through an appropriate modification of the surface properties with physical and chemical methods.
The Surface Engineering therefore offers the possibility to design components using materials optimised solely for the massive properties and delegating to the surface treatments the conferral of the required properties to the surface only.
Treatments that can be applied to surfaces in order for them to assume certain characteristics:
The different solutions are verified in its laboratories by developing custom test methodologies, in order to validate them specifically for the type of final application of the component in question.
Thin film coatings (100 nm – 10um)
DURALAR PVD/PECVD:Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD), Plasma Enhanced Chemical Deposition
Hybrid design: PVD and PECVD processes in the same deposition system.Possibility of obtaining a wide range of materials: hard and soft metals, nitrides, carbides, DLCs and oxides
Metallic, polymeric, composite, ceramic, semi-conducting
it is possible to carry out research, prototyping, pre-production for validation, and small-scale production.
Possibility of developing patentable solutions.
High thickness coatings (10um – 1mm)
High Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF)
Thermal spray system suitable for the deposition of thick metal coatings or metal/ ceramic composites, characterised by high density and adhesion. This process is generally used to deposit wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant coatings applied in harsh environments, from room temperature up to 800°C.
